Emily "Babino" Williams-Phillips, was the eldest child born to Adam Williams, Sr. and Elizabeth W. Pete. She was born on December 22, 1948 in Lafayette, La. Emily was reared by her grandparents, Henry and Emily Babino. She attended school at Sager Brown in Baldwin, La., and was a graduate of Park Avenue High School in Franklin, La. Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in the Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin, La. Officiating, Pastor Allen R. Randle, Sr. Emily accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late C. E. Batiste at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, La. She recently yoked up with the Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen R. Randle, Sr. Emily was a hard worker. She held several jobs working as a CNA/Homemaker Aide for over 25 years. Her last place of employment was Council on Aging in Franklin, La., where she enjoyed caring for her clients. Her favorite past-time was going to all the "Garage Sales" with her friends, Ethel Lee and Amy Randle. She also loved spending hours on the phone with family and friends. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her six children, Carolyn P. (Joseph) Grogan of Franklin, La., Mathilda Ward of New Iberia, La., Rachel Ward, Brenda P. (Darin) Shelton and David Phillips all of Baldwin, La., and Rhonda Phillips of Franklin, La., a grandson she helped rear, Willie Alfred, Jr; eight sisters, Pearl Lucille Akins of Houston, TX., Carolyn (Steve) Wright of Beaumont, TX., Cynthia (Marcus) Dorsey of Port Arthur, TX., Sharon W. Borne of Bridge City, La., Donna Jean Bell of Avondale, La., Deidre Williams of Austin, TX., Gwen Williams of Houston, TX., and Carolyn Williams of Killeen, TX., six brothers, Henry Lee (Yvonne) Pete, Calvin Pete, Jr., and Michael Pete all of Beaumont, TX., Albert Williams, Sr. of Charleston, WV., Terry Williams of Shreveport, La., Nathan Williams of Avondale, La., one aunt, Dorothy B. Youman of Baldwin, La., one uncle, Rogers Williams of Las Vegas, NV., a devoted friend, Daniel Norman; a devoted cousin, Mary Ann Babino Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends who know that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Williams, Sr., Elizabeth E. and Calvin Pete, Sr., her grandparents, Henry and Emily Babino; one sister, Linda Williams; one uncle, Nathan Williams; four grandchildren, LaShawnda Ward, DeAndre Ward, Ashley Ward and Amber Ward. = ==================
