She is 81, a native of Roseland, and a resident of Franklin. Iris is survived by two daughters, Becky B. Robichaux and husband, Mike, of Franklin, and Suzanne B. Taylor and husband, Philip, of Belle Chasse; three grandchildren, Philip Taylor and wife, Nancy, of Mobile, Alabama, Tempi T. Nepveaux and husband, Sonny, of Gretna and Shane M. Robichaux and wife, Heather, of Houma; three great grandchildren, Trinity Robichaux, Madison Taylor and Matthew Taylor; a sister, Mary Lyle R. Ellzey of Amite; three brothers, Kirk Russell and wife, Louise, of Roseland, Morris Russell and wife, Irene, of Jackson, and Connie Russell of Amite; sister-in-law, Linda Russell of Amite; her dearest friend of many years, who in both of their hearts were truly sisters, Anna Hanagriff, of Centerville; and also a very special friend, Bobbie Vaccarella of Franklin. She was preceded in death by parents, Olaf and Edith Springs Russell; husband, Francis X. "Hank" Bel Sr.; son, Francis X. Bel Jr.; two sisters, Ontie R. Gredesky and Clarice Toney. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, dancing, being with the girls and gardening, but her greatest joy in life was the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but she will forever remain in our hearts. "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart." Visitation at McKneely & Vaughn Funeral Home in Amite, on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 12 Noon until Celebration of Life Services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Deacon Mike Agnello officiating.
