He passed away March 6, 2011, in Morgan City, Louisiana, at the age of 72. Choker worked for Placid Oil as a Plant Operator for nearly 30 years. After his retirement, he was best known for Cart's Sausage & Boudin. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, where was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jenora Fontenot Cart; his son, Greg Cart and his wife Cindy, of Patterson; his five daughters, Monica Mahfouz of Berwick, Sue Ledet and her husband Darin of Berwick, Kathy Shilling and her husband David of Bayou Vista, Angie Touchet and her husband Michael of Bayou Vista, and Cindy Coomer and her husband Lance, of Lafayette; his two brothers, Burley Cart and his wife Becky, and Barry Cart and his wife Ann, both of Iota, LA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Alyssa and Patrick Cart, Timothy and Zachary Mahfouz, Mallory and Abigail Ledet, Elizabeth, Travis and Jeremy Shilling, Kayleigh and Jordan Bourg, and Jacey and Jude Coomer. He is preceded in death by his parents Velton and Henrietta Cart of Iota, LA. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. with rosary services at 7:30 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will continue Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.; until dismissal at 1:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Bernadette Catholic Church beginning at 2:00 p.m. Choker will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Mausoleum in Patterson, LA. ===================
