Courtney Sr., 76 a resident of Morgan City and a native of Beaumont, TX. Passed away at Teche Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Bobby Courtney was one of God's true disciples. He was the most loving, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, understanding, giving, selfless, and gentle man. He loved fishing, traveling, camping, hunting, reading, drawing, and building things. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching his grandchildren at sporting events. He loved talking and was an avid storyteller. Pawpaw Bobby never met a stranger; everyone he met became a friend. He loved to give and never receive. His love never wavered and was endless. He was an exemplary role model from the young to the old. The love he gave to his family, friends, and strangers was immeasurable. His words of wisdom were always comforting. He has just begun to live his spiritual life with His Father in the most beautiful place we could ever imagine, Heaven. He will be with us every day as we will feel him in our hearts, and we will see him every day in the eyes of his beautiful children and grandchildren. Bobby is survived his wife, Janet B. Courtney of Morgan City, five sons; Bobby Rayburn Paul Courtney Jr. and his wife Miki of Morgan City, Gregory Mark Courtney and his wife Kristie of Morgan City, Kirk Patrick Courtney of Morgan City, Keith Mario Courtney and his wife Susan of Morgan City, Michael Richard Courtney of Morgan City. Bobby is also survived by nine grandchildren; Joshua Paul Courtney, Jonathan Mark Courtney, Jamie Lyn Courtney, Stephanie Lynn Courtney, Adam Mario Courtney, Barron Paul Courtney, Austin Drake Courtney, Marki Beasley, McKenzie Beasley and adopted son, Randal Paul Chaisson and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Adam and Dorothy Gray Johnson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary at 1:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
