Odilia Ramirez, 81, a native of Marti, Matenzas, Cuba and a long time resident 
of Morgan City left this earthly life Friday, March 11, 2011 at her residence 
surrounded by her loving family and many friends.

Odilia was born in Marti, Matenzas Cuba. She fled her country in 1968 to provide 
a better life in the United States. With her husband and her daughter, Morgan 
City then became their home. She was a school teacher and taught grades 1 thru 3 
prior to leaving her country.

Everyone that knew her will miss her, she was the type of person that loved 
everyone and saw no fault of anyone. Those that came around her fell in love 
with her. One of her many talents was her cooking, she was famous for her 
homemade Cuban Tamales, and her specialty was one of her deserts called 
Panetela. She also loved gardening but most of all a woman with great faith in 
God. 

Odilai was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Odilia leaves behind her husband Fernando Ramirez of 53 wonderful years, their 
only daughter Maria Bolano and her husband Oscar of Morgan City, three 
grandchildren; Suzanna Ebbecke and her husband John of Morgan City, Jorge Bolano 
and his wife Genesis of Shreveport and Christopher Bolano and his fiancˇ Lindsey 
Stephens of Morgan City; six great-grandchildren Hayley, Hannah and Dillon 
Ebbecke, Julian Bolano, Alana Smith and Alex English; two brothers Oscar San 
Miguel and his wife Paula of Morgan City and Orlando San Miguel and his wife 
Daria of Miami.

Odilia was preceded in death by her parents Emilio and Inez Garcia San Miguel, 
and a sister Olga San Miguel.

A time of reflection and remembrance will be Monday, March 14, 2011 at Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian 
Burial will be Monday, March 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
Odilia will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum.
