(December 13, 1943 - April 10, 2011) Jeanette Campbell, age 67, a native and resident of Morgan City, died Sunday, April 10 at her residence at 5:25 PM. Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Morgan City, Monday, April 18, 2011 from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in The Morgan City Cemetery. Jeanette was the daughter of the late Henry Campbell, Sr. and Mattie Palmer. "Jenny Blue" as she was affectionately known, was a well-known cook and seamstress. She worked as a pastry chief at the Morgan City Petroleum Club for several years. Jean also made many young ladies wedding day dreams come true. She designed and constructed elegant wedding gowns and cakes. Jeanette was a proud graduate of Sumpter Williams High School, and she attended Nicholls State University where she received a certificate in pastry design. Jenny Blue enjoyed traveling around the country to visit relatives, as well as taking her casino bus trips. Jenny Blue leaves to cherish her memory; her mother, Mattie Palmer of Morgan City, her stepmother, Joan Campbell of Morgan City; seven brothers, Clarence Campbell, Ronald Campbell, Levi Campbell and Raymond Campbell all of Morgan City, Craig Hall of New York, Glen Campbell of Boston, and Henry Campbell of Franklin; five sisters, Brenda Murray of Patterson, La., Nancy Campbell, Sharon Dardar & Wanda Lowery all of Morgan City and Carol Campbell of San Antonia, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers and a sister. Jean will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. She will rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
