Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1104.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, April 4, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption for Dorothy "Dot" Bourque Charpentier, 87, a native of Milton and a resident of Franklin for the past 70 years, who passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 4:30AM at her home. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Mrs. Dot is survived by her four children, Sterling P. Charpentier, III and his wife, Shirley, of Franklin, Sharon C. Becnel of Lafayette, Ashby A. Charpentier and his wife, Pattie, of New Iberia, and Sheila C. Lowry and her husband, Al, of Lafayette; one sister, Hazel B. LeBlanc of Leroy; 11 grandchildren, Libby C. Sullivan, Sterling "Petey" Charpentier, IV, Larry Charpentier, Angela C. Gary, Scott Michael Charpentier, Tara Rose Charpentier, Shannon B. Trahan, Nicole B. Deslatte, Amanda L. Broussard, Travis John Lowry, and Lauren Anne Lowry; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Sterling P. "Buster" Charpentier, Jr.; her parents, Galbert Bourque and Angelique Whittington Bourque; five brothers, Ashby Bourque, Raywood Bourque, Harvey Bourque, Wilbert Bourque, and Irby Bourque; and one son-in-law, Mike Becnel. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Ibert's Mortuary from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visiting will resume Monday at Ibert's at 9:00 AM until dismissal at 10:30 AM. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice, especially to Melody Coleman and Elenore Washington, for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Dot as well as the family.
