He has been a resident of Morgan City for many years before losing his battle with cancer on Monday, April 18, 2011. He fought bravely and courageously for seven years. He was an affectionate husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted LSU and Dallas Cowboys sports fan. He loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed being a car salesman, which was the profession he worked for the majority of his life. Royce is survived by his wife of 30 years, Myra LaCoste Eckols, two daughters; Deanna Eckols Price and her husband Bobby of OH, Lisa Eckols Fliesher and her husband Joe of OH. Three sons; David Eckols and his wife Karen of Patterson, Michael Eckols and his wife Taylor of Dallas, TX and Christopher Eckols of Morgan City. Royce is also survived by six grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. Royce was preceded in death by one son, Brian Eckols, his parents, Okanee Chambers Eckols Knight and Murry Borlone Eckols, stepdad, James Knight, one brother, Ronald Eckols, mother-in-law, Thelma LaCoste and father-in-law Oscar LaCoste Sr. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Twin City Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 21, 2011 with Pastor Mark Hobgood officiating. Royce will be laid to rest in Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
