EDWARDS, MARTHA LYONS 

Mrs. Martha Lyons Edwards, 74, a resident and native of Charenton, died 
Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 7:51 p.m., at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia 
following a short illness.

She is survived by three sons, Shelby Manuel, Quincy (Debra) Manuel of 
Charenton, and Stephen (Kimberly) Manuel; three daughters, Stephanie Manuel, 
Rebecca Lyons and Reginia L. Smith, all of Houston, Texas; one brother, Rosevelt 
(Dorothy) Lyons of New Orleans; two sisters, Mary Jack of Port Arthur, Texas and 
Stella Hayes of Little Rock, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; and three great 
grandchildren.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and one 
brother.

Visitations will be observed Monday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mt. 
Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton.

Burial rites will be read Monday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. Paul 
Godfrey officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Charenton.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
