Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1104.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Ethel Mae Davison Manuel died at her home in Jeanerette, Louisiana on April 2. 2011, at 6:00 AM after a long illness. She was 86 and the last of nine children of the late George and Gertrude Davison. Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2011 at St. Mark Baptist Church, 2414 4th Street, Jeanerette, Louisiana 70544, from 10:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Reverend Eric Fondal, Pastor. She found her calling as a teacher and spent over 40 years in the elementary schools of Jeanerette, Louisiana. After retiring, she continued to serve as a tutor in her home, a volunteer in the community and the retired teacher's association. In addition, she served as a worker in her church, St. Mark Baptist. For her service, she received well deserved commendation. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Annette, a brother-in-law Leo Manuel (Julia Mae), a great aunt, Albertha D. Woods, nieces Joyce Clark, (Wade), Sybil Kelly Boseman (Raymond) , Myrtle Kelly Chatman, Yolanda Davison Brown and Gena Davison; nephews Barron Davison, Barry Davison, Gregory Davison and Shawn Davison and many cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Her husband, Wilbert Manuel Sr. and son Wilbert Jr., two sisters; Myrtle D. Kelly ann Marjorie D. Samuel and six brothers; Clarence, Joseph, George, Clifton, Chester and Moses preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers for Ethel Manuel, please contribute to the St. Mark Baptist Church Choir and Usher board in her memory. ===================
