Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1104.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== George Rodriguez Jr., 27, a native of Franklin and a resident of Lafayette, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2011 at 1:50pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday April 7th from 6pm to 9 pm at The Crossing Place Fellowship in Franklin. Visitation will resume on Friday April 8th from 9am until time of services at The Crossing Place Fellowship. Funeral Services for George will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10am at The Crossing Place Fellowship in Franklin with Pastor Brad Bullock officiating the services. Graveside services will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin. Acting as Pallbearers, Robert Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Richie Suarez, Theo 'T.C.' Frederick, Daniel Anthon, and Jeremy Anthon. Acting as Honorary Pallbearers are, Jamie Coutee', John Kent, Larry August, and Robert Wilkerson. George leaves to cherish his loving wife, Pamela Coutee' Rodriguez of Lafayette; his father, George L. Rodriguez Sr. of Franklin; his mother, Maria G. Rodriguez of Franklin; two brothers, Robert Rodriguez of Lafayette and David Rodriguez and his wife, Sabrina, of Franklin; two nephews, Carter Cain Rodriguez of Franklin, and Mason Lee Rodriguez of Franklin; his paternal grandfather, Julio Rodriguez of Idaho; his paternal grandmother, Adelina G. Saravia of Franklin; his maternal grandmother, Vicenta L. Garcia of Mission, TX.; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Favian Garcia; his paternal great grandfather, Juan Garza; his uncle, Gilberto Garza; his paternal great grandmother, Maria S. Garza; his maternal great grandfather, Guadalupe Garcia; and his maternal great grandmother, Otila T. Garcia. George excelled at his education, having obtained many awards and achievements through out his young life. He was a 2001 graduate of Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, where he maintained a high Grade Point Average and received the Regents Scholar Certificate of Recognition. George also attended Louisiana State University for three years before he started full time work offshore for Eurest Support Services as an Offshore Utility Hand. He later joined the workforce of Delmar as an Offshore Anchor Rigger, before being hired by Fugro Chance as a GPS Software Operator. George finally changed occupations from offshore work to assisting in the formation of Modular Homes as a Project Manager in Houston, TX. George's accomplishments are too numerous to mention. It is simplest to say that George was an extraordinary husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
