Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1104.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Mrs. Virginia Tolar Todd, 85, a native of Columbia, MS., and a resident of Franklin passed away, Monday, April 25, 2011 at 9:02pm at her residence. Mrs. Virginia is survived by her three grandchildren, Erin Todd of Lafayette, Amanda Todd of Lafayette, and Spencer G. Todd IV of Lafayette; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Todd of Lafayette; her daughter-in-law, Sally Todd Sobba and her husband, Donald, of Lafayette; a brother-in-law, Francis Todd of Franklin; and a sister-in-law, Sarah Todd Schoeffler of Lafayette; and a loving caretaker, Beth Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer G. Todd Jr.; her son, Spencer G. Todd III; her parents, John and Ruby Myrtle Robertson Tolar; and her sister, Johnie Sue Dempsey. After obtaining a B.S. in Nutrition, Virginia completed her internship at Charity Hospital in New Orleans before marring Spencer G. Todd Jr. on Novemeber 25, 1951. After her husband finished his education, the two moved to Franklin, where Virginia went to work as a welfare visitor for 10 years. She then accepted a job as a dietitian at the local hospital, Franklin Foundation, where she worked until her retirement. Virginia was a part of many civic and religious organizations, where she dedicated her time to her community. The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, April 29th at 9am until time of services at the First United Methodist Church of Franklin. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11am at the First United Methodist Church of Franklin with Reverend Sue Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be Spencer G. Todd IV, Todd Schoeffler, Gordon Schoeffler, Ted Schoeffler, Glenn Todd, and Francis Todd. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made in Mrs. Virginia's name to the First United Methodist Church of Franklin ===================
