Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Affectionately known as "Teen" by those closest to her, she was a devoted wife and an exceptional mother, grandmother and great grandmother. "Teen" spent a great part of her life in the political arena with her husband. She unselfishly divided her time between her responsibilities as the wife of a lawyer, state legislator and Lieutenant Governor with her responsibilities as a mother determined to remain in Franklin to make it home for her six children. She was a gracious host to the many who visited her home and could readily involve herself in any conversation, especially issues involving her supportive role in state government as she represented her husband for many official state functions. "Teen" was a devout Catholic and a daily communicant for most of the ambulatory years of her life. She gave her entire life to her family and will be remembered with pride and admiration by her children. Her enduring spirit, perpetual sense of humor, amazing strength of will and character, generosity and conviction to her beliefs of life and love will be her legacy. She will be lovingly remembered by all whom she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. "Taddy" Aycock; her father, E.J. Champagne, Sr.; her mother, Agnes Hebert Champagne; her brothers, Elton J. Champagne, Roy J. Champagne and Lee T. Champagne; her sister, Vivian Champon; her son-in-law, Greg Fleniken. She is survived by her sister, Lillian Turner and her brother, E.J. Champagne, Jr.; her children, Barbara "Tateen" Ory and husband Dr. Dirk Ory; Joseph W. "Jody" Aycock and wife June; Dr. Kenneth Aycock and wife Sandra; Mary Margaret Valls and her husband Michael; Larry "Moo" Aycock and wife Kathy; and Susan Fleniken. She had 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 10:00 a.m. until time of dismissal. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Ory, Matt Ory, Tad Aycock, John Aycock, Ben Aycock, and Cason Aycock. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Thomas Theriot and Cameron Landry, and family friend, Torre Tugwell. The family expresses a debt of gratitude for the love and dedication of her friend and caregiver Bessie Tugwell, her son Torre, and her extended family. The same gratitude is extended to caregiver Mae Hidalgo, her family and the neighbors who were always willing to help "Ms. Teen." In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John-Hanson Foundation, 924 Main St., Franklin, LA 70538, or Heart of Hospice, 201 W Vermillion St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70501 in memory of Elaine Champagne "Teen" Aycock.
