Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1105.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption for Mr. John L. Mangano, 78, a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Franklin, who passed away Monday, May 9, 2011, at 4:05 PM at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Burial will be held in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate the services. Mr. John was a veteran of the United States Air Force. In his earlier years he worked as a car salesman for Norwood Chevrolet, as well as for 25 years for the St. Mary Parish School Board as a bus driver. He was also a Notary Public, and owner of Big John's Auto Sales. He was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Juanita Mae Guilbeau Mangano of Franklin; one son, Ben John Mangano and his wife Souk of New Iberia; one daughter, Peggy Mangano Aymond and her husband John of Pineville; three grandsons. Mickey Landerman, Jr., Kristopher Landerman, and Michael Scott II; one brother, Louis Mangano , Sr. and his wife Lee of Pearl River; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Mangano Alexander; his parents, Bernard "Ben" Mangano and Mary Gennaro Mangano; one sister, Catherine Mangano Talbot; and a grandson, Mylz Ben Mangano. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, May 12, at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM, and again Friday from 9:00 AM until dismissal at 12:45 PM. Pallbearers will be Ben John Mangano, John Aymond, Michael Scott II, Mickey Landerman, Jr., Kristopher Landerman, and Benny Ancona, Sr. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main St., Franklin, LA, (337)-828-5426. ===================
