Alex Joseph Orgeron Sr., 83, a native of Berwick and a resident of Bayou Vista 
passed away, Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Lafayette General Medical Center.

Alex is survived by five sons, Alex J. Orgeron Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann, of New 
Iberia, Harold L. Orgeron and his wife, Brenda, of Patterson, Howard J. Orgeron 
and his fiancˇ, Alice, of Bayou Vista, Kenny P. Orgeron and his wife, Leida, of 
Patterson, and John A. Orgeron of New Iberia; two daughters, Linda O. Matthiews 
an her husband, Allen, of Patterson, and Sheryl O. Bass and her husband, 
Charles, of Gibson; his companion, Joyce Womack of Berwick; one sister, Millie 
Areaux of Chalmette; 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and two great 
great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Comeaux Orgeron; his parents, Octave 
and Lelia Hotard Orgeron; a brother, Octave H. 'O.J.' Orgeron Jr.; and four 
sisters, Evelyn Valley, Ruth Famigilio, Flo Borel, and Amy Vincent Delaune,

The family requests that visitation be observed Monday, May 9, 2011 from 6pm to 
9pm at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson with a rosary being prayed at 7pm. 
Visitation will resume Tuesday, May 10th at 8am until time of Mass at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Patterson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11am at St. 
Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson with Father Donovan Labbe officiating. 
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
