Rita Mae Michel Bonner a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away on Monday, 
June 20, 2011 at Morgan City Health Care Center.

Rita Mae was a caring and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to 
her family. She loved cooking and caring and spending as much time as she could 
with them. Her family was her life like so many South Louisiana women.

Rita Mae is survived by her two sons: Brent A. Bonner Sr. and his wife, Laurie 
of Baton Rouge and Steven G. Bonner and his wife, Monique of Covington; three 
daughters: Sandra J. Bonner of Dallas, Susanne B. Shockley and her husband, 
Stanley of Morgan City and Mary B. Ashman and friend Gregg Campbell of Morgan 
City; one daughter-in-law, Kaye Bonner of Morgan City; one sister, Sister Joyce 
Michel MSHC of Opelousas; 11 grandchildren: Sunya Aucoin and her husband Thane, 
Jayme Ryan, Colleen J. Bonner, Genie G. Bonner and her fiancˇ Travis Crouch, 
Kelly B. Marcantel and her husband Sherman, Mearidith M. Bonner, Brent A. Bonner 
Jr. and his fiancˇ Melanie Bourgeois, William E. Ashman II, Tyler G. Bonner, 
Kyle P. Bonner and Blake Bonner; 12 great grandchildren: Larayme G. Jones, Amy 
K. Desomeaux and her husband Chris, Kody Written and his wife Lauren, Aylse 
Aucoin, Scottie Bailey, Dakota Bailey, Madison Bonner, Ava Bonner, Dallas, 
Cameron, Carson and Tiffiny Marcarntel, 4 great great-grandchildren: Tate, 
Rylee, Hayden and Rhett also two special great grandsons Matt Olivier and Devin 
Leonard.

Rita Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene R. Bonner Sr.; her 
parents: Lawrence and Myrtle Michel Sr.; her son, Eugene "Boo" Bonner Jr.; her 
son-in-law, William E. Ashman; five brothers: Lawrence Jr., Hilton, Floyd 
"Nookie", Mitch and Daniel Michel; two sisters: Theresa M. Canty and Angeline M. 
Guidry.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 starting at 6pm 
until 9pm at Twin City Funeral Home and resume at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 
on Thursday, June 23, 2011 starting at 8am until 10am with a Memorial Mass 
beginning at 10am. Rita Mae will be laid to rest next to her husband in the 
Morgan City Cemetery.
