Justin Barbier a resident of Morgan City passed away Sunday July 17, 2011 surrounded by his family in Houma at the age of 26. Justin, was a wonderful loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and the greatest friend any one would hope to have. He was a genuine, passionate conversationalist who took the time to listen. No one was ever a stranger to Justin as he was a caring friend to all. During his hospital stays he would be the strength and courage of his family and would often befriend new patients and staff. Justin loved music and playing his drums , and was an avid LSU fan, especially Baseball. He was a student at Nicholls's State University majoring in Journalism and a contributing reporter for The Nicholls Worth. Justin enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, kayaking and camping. He will be remembered for his smile, laughter and compassionate personality. He was a Blessing from God. Justin will be sadly missed by all who were made better by knowing this remarkable young man. Justin leaves behind to cherish his memories his parents Gerald and Julie Barbier of Morgan City , his sister Brittany Ann Barbier of Morgan City his grandfather Huey J. Ohmer, Sr. of Amelia, his grandparents Gerald J. and Carolyn LeBlanc Barbier of Morgan City . He is also survived by numerous Aunts and Uncles; Huey and Darlene Ohmer, Nancy ( Godmother) and Lynn Gros, Cindy and Chris Gunter, Jimmy and Chantel Ohmer, Joel and Michelle Ohmer, Brain and Doris Barbier, Craig ( Godfather) and Carlyn Barbier, Reed Barbier , Christine Barbier, and several loving cousins; Trey, Cameron and Mckenna Gros, Heath and Heidi Ohmer, Ryan Ohmer, Parrish Hebert, Sagan, Haven and Gable Ohmer, Ashlyn Bruni, Cassie and Neil Barbier, Chad and Candice Barbier, Calla Barbier Crawford, and Courtney, Austin, Kristen Barbier and many cherished friends. Justin is preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Lou Aucoin Ohmer, and his cousin Heather Ohmer. Pallbearers to serve will be Cameron Gros, Heath Ohmer, Neil Barbier, Chad Barbier, Cory Burgess, Caleb Verrett, Chris Shirley, and Bryan Lapeyrouse. Honorary pallbearers will be Trey Gros, Brad Breaux, Brennan Hamm, and Rusty Bouvier. A time of remembrance and reflection will be observed Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm. Continuing Wednesday July 20, 2011 8.00 am until 1.30 pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church July 20, 2011 at 2.00 pm. Justin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
