Mr. Nelson Thomas Labit Sr., 75, a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a resident 
of Berwick passed away, Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 3:30am at his residence.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Hebert Labit of Berwick; five sons, 
Nelson Thomas 'Tommy' Labit of Lafayette, Michael Ray Labit of Bakersfield, 
California, Sterling Lewis 'Buck' Labit of Lafayette, Brian Allen Labit of New 
Orleans, and Richard Labit of Centerville; two daughters, Constance Marie Labit 
of Garden City and Brenda Lee McCann of Jacksonville, Florida; 3 sisters; 18 
grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, step mother, a son, and two 
brothers.

The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 
10am until time of services at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin with a rosary being 
prayed at 12:30pm.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 21st at 1pm at Ibert's Mortuary in 
Franklin with Father Angelo Cremaldi officiating. Burial will follow in the 
Morgan City Cemetery in Morgan City with the East St. Mary Veteran Funeral Squad 
presiding over military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to alleviate any 
doctor and funeral expenses.
