Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1107.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Margaret Aucoin Simoneaux, 95, died on July 19, 2011 at Landmark of Louisiana Nursing Home in Baton Rouge. She was a native of Patterson and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 9am until time of services at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, July 23rd at 11am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Margaret was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She was an active volunteer throughout her life with her church and an active member of both Nation and St. Mary Parish AARP, a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and a member of 'Le Bayou' Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers. She was honored in 1998-1999 as being the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award of Louisiana from American Legion Post 242 in Patterson and also won the first ever Friend of the Pioneers Award of Louisiana. She loved helping others especially at the nursing home in Patterson. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Simoneaux Templet and her husband, Larry, of Donaldsonville; her grandchildren, Dawn LeBlanc Bourque and her husband, Keith, of Gonzales, Troy J. LeBlanc and his wife, Rebecca, of Prairieville; her great grandchildren, Becca Bourque, Brandon Bourque, and Ty LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband O'Neal Paul 'Kaiser' Simoneaux and her parents, Albert J. Aucoin and Alice Peltier Aucoin. The family would like to extend special thanks to Landmark of Baton Rouge and their entire staff for the wonderful care Margaret received until her death, and to the Office of Blumberg and Associates which allowed her granddaughter, Dawn the countless hours away from her job to care for her grandmother. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. ===================
