A private family burial will be held at a later date. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX. 76708. Barbara was born December 17, 1929 to Julius Rodney and Anna Ruth Duffy LeBlanc of Waco. A lifelong Wacoan, she graduated from Waco High School in 1947, and went on to attend Baylor University. It was there that she met her loving husband, James Melbourne Appell, whom she married September 4, 1950. Over the years, she was a very active volunteer in a number of organizations, including her work in the Junior League. It was through her work there, as an art docent, that she developed her passion for fine art. As a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church, she was a member of St. VeronicaÕs Circle and a number of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. Above all else, she loved nothing more than to spend time and socialize with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a caring sister and a loyal friend. She is survived by her husband; sister, Julie LeBlanc; son, Thomas R. Appell and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Ruth A. Bolt; granddaughter, Julie Reynolds Simmon and husband, Trey; great grandchildren, Peyton and Madeline Simmon; sister-in-law, Martha Appel; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to St. JudeÕs ChildrenÕs Hospital or St. Louis Catholic Church. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to the Third Floor Staff at St. CatherineÕs Center and to the Providence Hospice Staff. ===================
