Fr. Jody Simoneaux will officiate at the funeral mass. Scripture readers will be her granddaughters, Desiree and Brandy Bacala. Gift bearers will be her granddaughters, Celeste, Anna and Kimmie Bacala. Eucharist minister will be her nieces, Ellen Stutes, Lynn Viator and Leesa Falterman. Interment will follow the services at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Jeanerette. She was a business teacher in St. Mary Parish for over thirty years, and taught at Centerville High and Franklin High, where she started and ran the COE Program. Following her retirement from the public school system, she was the principal at St. Joseph School in Jeanerette. She was very active in civic and community affairs, and was a long time member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an educational sorority. She enjoyed growing roses and won the Garden of the Month Award multiple times. She and her husband enjoyed fishing and eating oysters. In her later years, she moved to Garden View Assisted Living in Lafayette, where she served on multiple committees and made many new wonderful friends. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Bacala and her daughterÕs partner, Jan Merin of Santa Fe, New Mexico; her son, Steve Bacala and his wife, Wanda, of Baton Rouge, and their children, Desiree, Stevie, Brandy and Joey; her son, Glenn Bacala and his wife, Kris, of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, and their children, Celeste, Anna, Kimmie, and her stepsons, David, Patrick and Steve Bundrick; her sister, Claire Guidry of Lafayette; her brother, Joseph V. Kobleur and his wife, Rose, of Titusville, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Bacala Jr.; her parents, Joseph G. Kobleur and Anna Trahan Kobleur; her stepmother, Nana Kobleur; and one sister, Marie Kobleur Allain. The family wishes to especially thank Dorothy Adams and Pat Charles for their devoted service in her last days. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday, August 17, 2011, from 9 a.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stevie and Joey Bacala; her nephews, John Guidry, Bret Allain and Eric Stutes; and her niece, Emma Allain. Honorary pallbearer will be her nephew, Kevin Bacala, and Dewey Billodeau. David Funeral Home, 400 Provost St. in Jeanerette, is in charge of arrangements. ===================
