Visitation will be today, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Thibodaux Funeral Home, 104 St. Patrick Highway, Thibodaux. Visitation will resume on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, from 8 a.m. until funeral time at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 720 Talbot Ave., Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the Redeemer with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. Mr. Boudreaux was born on Feb. 7, 1930, to Lovelace Joseph and Viola Margaret Folse Boudreaux. He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Lois Boudreaux, and is the loving father of Jill and Harold Sonnier of Flower Mound, Texas, Kevin and Sylvia Boudreaux of Jacksonville, Fla., Brian and Lisa Boudreaux of Sulphur, Mark and Danna Boudreaux of Hartselle, Ala., Brett and Jamie Boudreaux of Lake Charles, and Melissa and Steve Bell of Mesquite, Texas. He also is survived by his sister, Janet Boudreaux Courtney of Morgan City; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Benjamin Andrew Boudreaux and Lovelace Joseph Boudreaux Jr.; and a sister, Grace Audrey Boudreaux Carpenter. Mr. Boudreaux retired from Sun Oil Co. in 1986 after 36 years of service. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Morgan City and studied petroleum engineering at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. An active member of his church and community, Mr. Boudreaux was a member of the ÒSodality of Our LadyÓ (since 1941) and served on the Zoning Board of Adjustment for the City of Thibodaux (1997-2003). He was a member of Lafayette Petroleum Club, Houston Club, Corpus Christi Town Club and Corpus Christi Yacht Club. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Christ the Redeemer Council #8906, Thibodaux High School Band Boosters Club (1969-1979) and the Smokey Mountains Parks and Recreations Ambassador Volunteer (1990-2004). He was honorably discharged from the Louisiana National Guard with the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Boudreaux was an avid camper and traveler. He is loved and will be missed by family and friends.
