MONETTE, MARY L. C. 

Mrs. Mary L. Collins Monette, 81, a resident of Franklin and a native of the 
St. Joseph Community, died Monday, Aug. 15, at 2:34 p.m., at Franklin 
Foundation Hospital following a short illness.

She is survived by three sons, Frank ÒButchÓ Monette Jr. and Rodney Monette Sr. 
and wife, Cherlynn, of Franklin, and Davey Monette and wife, Sunjanetta of 
Verdunville; two daughters, Ella Monette Mallett and husband, Spencer, of Lake 
Charles and Kathy Monette Randolph and husband, Shannon Sr. of Franklin; one 
brother, Ervin Collins Sr. and companion, Maudrey August, of Franklin; four 
sisters, Rosemary Harris of Dallas, Texas, Delores Thomas of New Orleans, 
Geraldine Carr of Los Angeles, California and Lois ÒChummyÓ Jones of Houston, 
Texas; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Mrs. Monette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, three 
sisters and three brothers.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the 
St. Joseph Baptist Church in the St. Joseph Community.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at that church, with the Rev. 
Ronald Young officiating. 
Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
