BERNARD, JENNINGS, SR. 
(August 20, 1930 - September 6, 2011)

Jennings Moise Bernard, Sr., 81, a native of St. Martinville, and resident of 
Bayou Vista, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at L.J. Chabert Medical 
Center in Houma.

Jennings is survived by his wife, Bertha Landry Bernard, of Bayou Vista, five 
children, Nadine Bernard Marcel, and husband Kenny of Alvin, TX, Letty Bernard 
Steckler, and husband Frederick, of Patterson, Cynthia Bernard Sarver, and 
husband Kevin, of Youngsville, Jennings Bernard, Jr., and wife Gena, of Bayou 
Vista, Eric Paul Bernard, Sr., of Bayou Vista; thirteen grandchildren; eight 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandchild, one sister.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 
St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville. 
Jennings was laid to rest in the St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
