He passed away at his residence with his entire family by his side. We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a devoted man and leaves behind many special memories and a legacy to live on. He loved life and loved spending time with his family especially his fifteen grandchildren and great granddaughter. His family was very special to him and being a father and grandfather was his greatest accomplishments. He will be deeply and sadly missed by all the lives he touched. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. Tommy was a graduate of Brownsville High School in Brownsville, Texas. Following high school, Tommy enlisted into the U.S. Navy as a parachute rigger serving 2 years during the Vietnam Era. He was currently employed by Martin Gas Marine as a Tugboat Captain. He was predeceased in death by his mother, Chloe Daisy Douglas of Morgan City and his Aunt Shelia Springer of Los Fresnos, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Chandra Aucoin Donati of St. Martinville, his brother, Phillip Donati of Morgan City, his three sons, Tommy Daniel Donati Jr and his wife Amanda of St. Martinville, Steve Champagne Jr and his wife Lisa of St. Martinville, Tracy Champagne and his wife Alaina of St. Martinville, his daughter Wendy Champagne Price and her husband Glynn Price of Houma, his fifteen grandchildren, Alyssa Donati, Lucas Donati, Shade Suire, Nicole Price, Charlie Price, Savannah Price, Glynn Price Jr., Nicolas Price, Allison Champagne, Steve Champagne III, Trevor Champagne, Marissa Champagne, Ericka Champagne, Camdyn Champagne, Drake Champagne, and Audrey Champagne, his great granddaugher, Briahna Veregin and his dog Hershey. His wake will be from 2 -10 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. Monday until time of service. His military funeral with Honor Guard will be 2 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. The funeral will be officiated by Pastor David Gunter of Sulphur, Louisiana.
