She died of natural causes in Lafayette and went to be with her Lord. Mechie lived a full, energetic, exciting life well into her 70s, as witnessed by many. Mom always found the humorous side of life, and there was always a silver lining in all her days. Mom loved and enjoyed a large family of five children (Henry living in Houston, Merlie and Tootsie living in Baton Rouge, and Mitchell living in Breaux Bridge), 10 grandchildren, and 17 great- grandchildren. Mom was born in Lake Charles and lived many years in Morgan City, Toledo Bend Lake, the Texas coast and Houston. MomÕs final years were in Lafayette. Mom was preceded in death by our father, Joe; our sister, Judy; and her parents, Dehart and Henrietta Benoit. Mom will be greatly missed by all. To those who knew and loved Mom, please know that she would want us all to live life to the fullest as she will be there with us. We love you Mom. See you on the other side. A Christian service for MomÕs ashes is pending the return of a family member from out of the country. Thank you all for being our motherÕs friends. ===================
