Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1109.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at 1:00 PM at Bethany MHS Healthcare Center in Lafayette for Mabel Broussard Mendoza, 91, a native of Catahoula and resident of Lafayette who passed away Friday, September 23, 2011, at 5:45 PM at Bethany MHS Healthcare Center. Father Tom Finley will officiate the Mass Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Patterson at 3:30 PM. Survivors include two sons, O'Neil J. Mendoza and his wife Barbara of Boyce, and Dennis J. Mendoza and his wife Sandra of Hessmer; three daughters, Audrey M. Doggett and her husband Richard of Toledo Bend, Marlene M. Shaver of Lafayette, and Paula M. Richard and her husband Keith of Lafayette; three sisters, Elsie Lasseigne, Celie Berard, and Lilly Guidry; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Irving J. Mendoza, Sr.; one son, Irving J. Mendoza, Jr.; two grandsons, Travis J. Gannon and Charles Bo Turner; her parents, O'Neil and Helene Lasseigne Broussard; one daughter-in-law, Linda J. Mendoza; and five brothers. Mrs. Mabel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staffs of Bethany MHS Healthcare Center and Hospice Compassus for the loving care given to Mrs. Mabel during her final years. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Bethany MHS Healthcare Center from 9:30 AM until Mass time. Pallbearers will be Donnie Brasseaux, Benjamin Mendoza, George Mendoza, Justin Gannon, Adam Richard, Dylan Richard, Cameron Mendoza, and Benjamin Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Mendoza, Tyler Brasseaux, Blake Brasseaux, and Preston Mendoza. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. ===================
