Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1109.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Assumption for Ray Andrew Picard, Sr., 66, who passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at 6:40 PM at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Ray was a veteran of the Unites States Army having served from August 3, 1965 to August 14, 1967. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary Earline Verret Picard of Franklin; three children, Ray Andrew Picard, Jr. of Franklin, Randy A. Picard and his wife Margo of Franklin, and Michelle P. Prados and her husband Trent of Franklin; one brother, Rivers Picard of Franklin; two sisters, Elizabeth Migues of Franklin and Joyce Champagne of Charenton; four grandchildren, Cory Picard, Brandon Prados, Blake Picard, and Amy Picard; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand Picard and Clevelia Waguespack Picard; one brother, Raymond Picard, Sr.; and three sisters, May Comeaux, Florence Bourque, and Hazel Ortez. Pallbearers will be Ray Picard, Jr., Trent Prados, Cory Picard, Brandon Prados, Jason Brasseaux, Dewey Migues, Jr., Roy Verret, Jr., and Whitney Bourque. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM.
