SONIA, ELIZABETH D. 

Mrs Elizabeth Domingue Sonia, 69, a resident and native of the St. Joseph 
Community, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at 6 a.m., at her residence following 
a short illness.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. William Sonia Jr. of St. Joseph; a 
caregiver, Marilyn Rochon of New Iberia; one son, Byron Sonia of Franklin; four 
daughters, Cynthia Belanger of Huntsville, Alabama, Barbara Sonia of Franklin, 
Jennifer Sonia of New Iberia and Elizabeth Collins of Lafayette; three 
brothers, Lester Guillory of Jamaica Queens, New York, George Madison of Lake 
Charles and Frank Welch of Franklin; three sisters, Etta Jackson of New 
Orleans, Serena Lee of League City, Texas and Lizzie Stokes of Franklin; 13 
grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sonia was preceded in death by her parents and two sons.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the 
Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary, with the Rev. 
Joseph Davis officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Perpetual Park Cemetery in Franklin.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
