Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1110.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 2:30 PM at Ibert's Mortuary for Mary Joyce Picard Champagne, 70, a native and longtime former resident of Franklin and a recent resident of Charenton, who passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011, at 7:30 PM at her home in Charenton. Burial will follow in Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Gregory Cormier will officiate the services. Mrs. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., and the Golden Age Club. Survivors include four children, Don J. Champagne and his wife Lisa of New Iberia, Ricky J. Champagne of Franklin, Connie C. Broussard and her husband Burton of Charenton, and Gidget Champagne of Jeanerette; one brother, Rivers Picard of Franklin; one sister, Elizabeth Migues of Franklin; five grandchildren, Megan Businelle, Michelle Verret, Ashley Pillaro, Don Champagne, Jr., and Chermie Champagne; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Joseph Champagne; her parents, Ferdinand Picard and Clevelia Waguespack Picard; two brothers, Raymond Picard, Sr. and Ray Andrew Picard, Sr.; and three sisters, May Comeaux, Florence Bourque, and Hazel Ortez. Pallbearers will be Don Champagne, Sr., Ricky Champagne, Don Champagne, Jr., Burton Broussard, Kirk Derouen, Robert Tevay. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM followed by a wake service officiated by Bro. Blaise Smith. Visiting will resume Wednesday at Ibert's Mortuary at 8:00 AM until service time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. ===================
