A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 11:00 
AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Mr. Frankie James Governale, 
a native and resident of Patterson, who passed away Friday, October 14, 2011, 
at 6:37 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. 
Father Donavan Labbé and Father Angelo Cremaldi will officiate the services.

Mr. Frankie was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a 3rd Degree 
member of the Knights of Columbus, Patterson Council #1710, where he served as
Recorder, Program Chairman, and Church Director. He was also a dedicated 
member, lector, and commentator at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, and 
was a Eucharistic adorer at the St. Bernadette Perpetual Adoration Chapel in 
Bayou Vista.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dianne Pitre Governale of Patterson; 
four children, Chad Michael Governale of Maurice, James Anthony Governale of 
Stephensville, Maria Francesca Governale Lantz and her husband Kent of 
Patterson, and Scott Thomas Governale and his wife Angie of Temple, GA; two 
sisters, Jean Carol Governale of Patterson and Antoinine Governale Erler and 
her husband Richard of Broussard; four grandsons, Dominic Michael Governale, 
Devyn Christopher Governale, Copeland Randall Atkinson, and Jake Begnaud; one 
brother-in-law, Darel J. Pitre of Franklin; one sister-in-law, Norma Pitre 
Clements of Centerville; three nieces; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Anthony Governale and Maria 
"Molly" Cutrera Governale; and one brother-in-law, Alton J. Clements.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 18, at Ibert's 
Mortuary in Patterson from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 
7:00 PM.  Visitation will resume Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 
9:00 AM until Mass time.
