A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 
11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Verdunville for Mr. 
Wilbert Anthony Paul, Sr., 74, a native and resident of Verdunville, who passed 
away Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at 5:20 PM at his home with his family at his 
side.

Burial and Military Honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in 
Verdunville. Fr. Thomas Vu will officiate the services.

Mr. Wilbert was a veteran of the United States Army, was a butcher in his early 
years, and retired from the St. Mary Parish School Board after working for over 
30 years as a school bus driver.

Survivors include his wife, Myra Broussard Paul of Verdunville; two sons, 
Wilbert Paul, Jr. and his wife Andrea of Garden City, and Randy Paul, Sr. and 
Melanie of Verdunville; four daughters, Jacqueline Griffin and her husband 
Frank, Marilyn Paul Gunner, Markita Westley and her husband Ryan, and Lorena 
Benjamin and her husband Anthony, Jr., all of Verdunville; one brother, Floyd 
Paul, Sr. of Verdunville; one sister, Mary Bourgeois of Verdunville; 12 
grandchildren, Bradley Paul, Anjanike Williams, Brittany Gunner, Timothy Wolf, 
Giovanni Gunner, Nashanta Benjamin, Bryan Paul, Randionna Paul, Randy Paul, 
Jr., Randalyn Paul, Randan Paul and Kailey Benjamin; one great grandchild, 
Khyler Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Paul, Sr. and Lilly Dardar Paul; 
six brothers, Elwood, Harold, Sr., Mike, Jr., Larry, Willard and Eolours Paul; 
and three sisters, Mildred P. Verdun, Sadie Paul, and Juanita P. Burgess.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday at the church from 8:00 
AM until Mass time, with the rosary being prayed at 10:00 AM.

Pallbearers will be Wilbert Paul, Jr., Randy Paul, Sr., Giovanni Gunner, Ryan 
Westley, Anthony Benjamin, Jr. and Frank Griffin, Jr.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc.
