Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1110.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Church of the Assumption for Mr. Donald Earl Peterson, 83, who passed away at 3:30 am Saturday, October 22, 2011, at his home in Broussard. Fr. Louis Richard will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Mr. Peterson was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. Donald dedicated 33 years of service to Exxon until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising horses, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mercedes Doucet Peterson; three daughters, Donna P. Duhon and her husband Roland of Broussard, Terry P. McClinton and her husband Rickie of Broussard, and Tracey Peterson of Broussard; seven grandchildren, Heather Duhon Stallings, Heath R. Duhon, Dr. Matthew S. Berniard, Tiffany B. Burns, Spenser G. Berniard, Robert D. Rhyne, and Beau M. Rhyne; four great grandchildren, Julia N. Stallings, Garrett E. Stallings, Bradley H. Duhon, and Isabella E. Burns; one brother, Earl F. Peterson of Baldwin; one sister, Faye P. Wise of LaGrange, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles M. Peterson, Sr. and Lydia Dugas Peterson; and three brothers, Karl W. Peterson, Harold A. Peterson, and Charles M. Peterson, Jr. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert's Mortuary on Monday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will continue on Tuesday at the Church of the Assumption from 8:00 am until time of Mass. Pallbearers will be Heath R. Duhon, Dr. Matthew S. Berniard, Spenser G. Berniard, Robert D. Rhyne, Beau M. Rhyne, Roland H. Duhon, and Rickie L. McClinton. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc. of Franklin ===================
