Rosemary Swan Smith, age 78, a resident of Jeanerette, La., and a native of 
Sorrell, La., died Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at her residence at 8:00 PM.

Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2011 at First Jerusalem Baptist Church, 
835 Monnot Road, Jeanerette, La., from 10:00 Am until funeral at 1:00 PM. Burial 
will be in the Sorrell Community Cemetery.

Rosemary leaves to cherish her memory; five sons, Miller (Gail)Smith, Jr., Leroy 
(Beverly) Smith, Craig (Ramona) Smith, Sr., and Kevin (Pamela) Smith, Sr., all 
of Sorrell, La., and Henry (Patricia) Smith of New Iberia, La; two daughters, 
Mrs. Joseph (Brenda) August of Jeanerette, La., and Paula Smith of Kansas City, 
MO; a sister-in-law, Ida Swan of Port Arthur, TX., a brother-in-law, King 
Alexander, Jr., of Glencoe, La., twenty-seven grandchildren, eleven great 
grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, Henry Swan and Doretha Lockett Swan, her 
husband, Miller Smith, Sr., a son, Barry Smith, a brother, Walter Swan, a 
sister, Emily Swan Alexander and a special friend, Benjamin (J.B.) Hamilton, Sr.
