Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1111.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 11, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary for Mr. Elton Victor Billiot, Sr., 78, a native and resident of Franklin, who passed away Monday, November 7, 2011, at 12:20 PM at the Franklin Healthcare Center. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Thomas Vu will officiate the services. Mr. Elton was a longtime member of St. Jules Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Centerville Council #4309. In his younger years he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trolling. He also enjoyed playing bingo. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Mrs. Molly LeBlanc Billiot of Franklin; six children, Theresa Tate of Lafayette, Mary Jane Priester of Breaux Bridge, Julie Prejean of Youngsville, Donna Hardy of Peoria, IL, Elton Victor Billiot, Jr. of Pearland, TX, and Melissa Broussard of Cankton; four step-children, Wayne Doucet of Pierre Part, Kirk Doucet of Pierre Part, Peggy Doucet Dugas of Franklin, and Daisy Doucet Anslum of Franklin; one brother, Floyd Billiot of Houma; one sister, Hazel Temple of Kentwood; 28 grandchildren; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Billiot and Katie Lovell Billiot; five brothers, Bob Billiot, Gerald Billiot, Horace Billiot, Morris Billiot, and Willard Billiot; and two sisters, Lillian Kohlmiller and Wilma Graham. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, November 11, at Ibert's Mortuary from 10:00 AM until Mass time, with the rosary being prayed at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Elton Victor Billiot, Jr., Marshall Billiot, Wayne Doucet, Kirk Doucet, Shane Dugas, and Paul Liner, Jr. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Franklin Healthcare Center and the staff of Heart of Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Mr. Elton.
