Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2011/sm1111.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, November 18, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption for Mrs. Luna Zimmerman Bodin, 82, a native and resident of Franklin, who passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 7:52 AM at Franklin Foundation Hospital. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will officiate the services. Mrs. Luna was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, sewing, and fishing. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and was also a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Holy Communion to the sick and shutins. After many years of working as a bookkeeper for a local business, she went on to teach religion at Hanson Memorial High School. Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie B. Bernard and her husband John of Lafayette; three sons, Timothy A. Bodin and his wife Erna of Franklin, Russel A. Bodin, Jr. and his wife Donna of Metairie, and Edward A. Bodin and his wife Christine of Franklin; three sisters, Laura Belle Z. Trahan of Franklin, Gail Z. Lancon and her husband Amar of Franklin, and Rosalyn Z. Arceneaux and her husband Fernest of Duson; one brother, Hilary J. Zimmerman and his wife Mary of Jackson, MS; sisters-in-law, Sara L. Zimmerman of Kilgore, TX and Audrey B. Hicks of Franklin; 14 grandchildren, Claire B. Steel and her husband Rustin, Jaron Bernard, Lacy B. Chauvin and her husband Ben, Eran Bodin, Erika Bodin, Laine Bodin, Russel Bodin, III, Christina Bodin, Connor Bodin, Ethan Bodin, Cassie Dossey, Nicolas Dossey, Austin Bodin, and Alex Bodin; and three great grandchildren, Miles Chauvin, Maxwell Chauvin, and Emma Kate Chauvin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel A. Bodin, Sr.; her father, Alex Zimmerman; her mother, Thelma Derouen Zimmerman; one brother, Herman P. Zimmerman; and one brother-in-law, Alcide "Buck" Trahan. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM, and again on Friday at the Church of the Assumption from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Pallbearers will be Jaron Bernard, Nicolas Dossey, Alex Bodin, Austin Bodin, Rusty Bodin, Connor Bodin, Ethan Bodin, and Ben Chauvin.
