Charpentier, the former Juanita Romero, 70, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia. Msgr. Douglas Courville will be the celebrant for the services. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Evangeline Funeral Homes of New Iberia with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, until service time. Mrs. Charpentier was a native and resident of New Iberia, and has lived in Berwick for the last 25 years. She passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Charpentier was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting baby blankets for all of the grandchildren and extended family members. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lloyd A. Charpentier of Berwick; three sons, Lloyd Ellis Charpentier and wife Gina of Spring, Texas, Christopher Dean Charpentier and wife Sandra of Berwick, and Timothy James Charpentier and wife Shannon of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Katelyn Elizabeth Charpentier of Berwick, Tyler Michael Savoie of New Iberia, Zackery Jude Charpentier of Youngsville, Haley Malyn Charpentier of Spring, Texas, Christopher Robin Charpentier of Berwick, Grant Ellis Charpentier of Spring, Texas, and Nicholas Andrew Charpentier of Berwick; and one great-grandchild, Kallie Elise Mayeaux of Berwick. She is also survived by three aunts, Irene Roberts and Dorothy Migues, both of New Iberia, and Lou Steward of Tampa, Fla.; one uncle, Alex Dartez; and four nieces, Rayetta Seward of Tampa, Fla., Vicky Ryan, Liz Chaffin and Melanie Skiles, all of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Romero and Edola Dartez Romero; and her granddaughter, Lacy Michelle Charpentier. Pallbearers will be Zachary Charpentier, Christopher Charpentier, Grant Charpentier, Tyler Savoie, Jesse Mayeaux and Todd Skiles. Nicholas Charpentier will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
