DENNIS, JOHN, SR.

Mr. John Dennis Sr., 68, a resident of Franklin and native of Glencoe, died 
Monday, November 7, 2011, at 5:20 a.m., at Lafayette General Medical Center 
following a short illness.

He is survived by two sons, Turner Dennis and wife, Tammy, of Mira Loma, 
California; and John Dennis Jr. and wife, Erike, of Patterson; six daughters, 
Sylvia Madison and husband, Eric, of Lafayette; Francena Cook and husband, 
Timothy, Joan Onaiwu and husband, Magnus, of Baton Rouge; Melissa R. Stewart 
and husband, Keith, Tiffany and Jacqueline Dennis of Franklin; one brother, 
Howard Dennis of Franklin; one sister, Dawn Dennis of Franklin; and 14 
grandchildren.

Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 
Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 12 p.m. at the mortuary, with the Rev. 
Darrel W. Broggs officiating. 
Interment will follow in the Israelite Cemetery in Centerville.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
