A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 21, 2011, at 1:00 PM 
at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Mr. Sherel A. Martin, Jr., 81, a 
native of Louisa and longtime resident of Patterson, who passed away Thursday, 
November 17, 2011, at 11:50 AM at his home. 
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. 
Father Donavan Labbé will officiate the services.

Mr. Sherel was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was 
a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. 
Following a long and successful career in the oil industry, he went on to 
become the St. Mary Parish Assessor, where he faithfully served for 20 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Bonnie June Marshall Martin of 
Patterson; six children, Leesa M. Foreman of Houma, Laddie M. Lawrence and her 
husband Ben of Houston, TX, Mary Beth M. Spradlin and her husband John of 
Patterson, Shelly M. Adams and her husband Al of Berwick, Bonnie Jean M. 
Patureau and her husband Keith of Destrehan, and Sherel E. Martin and his wife 
Dana of Patterson; one brother, Richard Martin and his wife Marcia of 
Centerville; three sisters, Audrey M. Falzon and her husband Phillip of 
Houston, TX, Claire M. Williams and her husband Fred of Denham Springs, and 
Theresa M. Olivier and her husband Thomas of Centerville; and 13 grandchildren, 
Beth Ann LaBrosse and her husband Dave, Bruce Adams, Jr., Lisa Paige Lawrence, 
Ryan Lawrence, Jack Spradlin, Allie Adams, IV, Austin Adams and his wife 
Elizabeth, Alaina Adams, Savanna Patureau, Miles Patureau, Chase A. Martin, 
Lindsey Martin, and Logan E. Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherel A. Martin, Sr. and Addie Landry 
Martin; one sister, Carolyn Martin Crochet; and his mother-in-law, Mary Dale 
Tew.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at St. Joseph Catholic 
Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the St. 
Joseph Catholic Church, 1011 First St., PO Box 219, Patterson, LA 70392.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Bruce Adams, Jr., David LaBrosse, Allie 
Adams, IV, Austin Adams, Miles Patureau, Chase A. Martin, and Logan E. Martin. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Spradlin and Ryan Lawrence.
