Catherine Calvarusso "Katie" Meranto, 96, a native of Plaquemine, and a 
resident of Morgan City, died Tuesday.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church in Morgan City after a visitation starting at 9 a.m. 
Burial will follow the funeral Mass.

She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Meranto; a brother, Nick Calvarusso of 
Plaquemine; a sister, Mary Kuntz of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren Shane 
Boudreaux and Shawn Boudreaux and four great-grandchildren Courtine, 
Christopher, Casie and Caitlynn Boudreaux.

She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Meranto; her parents Vito and 
Christine Calvarusso; and a great-grandchild Cody Michael Boudreaux.

Catherine was laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
