Saul Grogan Sr., 89, a native and resident of Patterson, died Tuesday at 2:20 a.m. at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon at New Salem Baptist Church and from noon to 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church, both in Patterson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in Willing Workers Cemetery in Patterson. Grogan is survived by 11 sons, Saul Grogan Jr. and Wallace Grogan of Morgan City, Clarence Grogan of Berwick, Charles Grogan, Earl Grogan, Paul Grogan, Timothy Grogan, Garrett Grogan and Saul Grogan III, all of Patterson, and Joseph Grogan and Marvin Grogan, both of Franklin; five daughters, Betty Grogan Christopher of Morgan City, Brunetta Grogan Stewart, Loretta Grogan Duchan and Melissa Grogan Larce, all of Patterson, and Edna Grogan Riles of Baldwin; one sister, Lizzie Dangerfield of Patterson; 53 grandchildren, 100 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son. Otis Mortuary in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. ===================
