Lewis, Sr., age 59, a resident of Patterson, La., and a native of Morgan City, La. On Friday, December 16, 2011, God sent his Angel to deliver our beloved to his eternal resting place at Patterson Healthcare at 11:50 AM. Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home in Morgan City, Friday, December 23, 2011 from 9:00 AM until funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Morgan City Cemetery. Carl C. Lewis was born on December 7, 1952 to the late Mrs. Edith Hartman-Lewis and Mr. Samuel A. Lewis of Morgan City, La. Carl attended Morgan City High School in 1968, after graduation he pursued a degree in Automotive Technology at Young Memorial Community College in Morgan City, La. Later on he married his high school sweet heart, Ms. Rosalind M. Carbin of Morgan City, La., and to this union were born (5) children; Tia S. Thomas (Robert) and Carl C. Lewis, Jr., both of Lafayette, La., Cheramie R. Johnson (Esakadarrell) Jonathan K. Lewis La., and Shantoya K. Lewis of all of Patterson, La., one stepson, Jeremy Andrews of Patterson, La. Carl gave his life to Christ and was baptized in his mid-twenties. His favorite gospel songs were, "He Was There All The Time", By Rev. James Moore and "We Must Praise", By The J. Moss Project". Also his favorite R&B songs were, "Just My Imagination", By The Temptations", and "Love and Happiness, by Al Green. Carl was very intelligent and loved life and people to the fullest, he spoke with authority but had a great sense of humor. His passion was working on any type of vehicles and riding motorcycles. He was known around town for his nick names, Carlette of Groove and most of all for being a cool mechanic with a smooth Walk and Talk. Carl leaves to celebrate his Homegoing; two sons, Carl C. Lewis, Jr., of Lafayette, La., and Jonathan K. Lewis of Patterson, La; and one stepson, Jeremy Andrews of Patterson, La; three daughters, Tia S. Thomas (Robert) of Lafayette, La., Cheramie R. Johnson (Eskadarrell) and Shantoya K. Lewis all of Patterson, La; two brothers, James A. Thorpes (Gloria) of Los Angeles, CA; and Pastor Jack J. Lewis (Judykci) of Morgan City, La; one sister, Elder Sandi E. Lewis-Coney (William) of Patterson, La., one favorite uncle, Matthew Hartman (Delores) of Franklin, La; 14 beautiful grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Carl will be greatly missed by those who loved and had a pleasure of knowing him. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. Samuel and Edith Hartman-Lewis, his beloved wife, the late Mrs. Rosalind M. Lewis, one sister, Jeannette Lewis, one brother, Kenneth Evans and a nephew. ===================
