Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2012/sm1201.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 9, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Bernie Joseph Arcemont, 77, a native and lifelong resident of Patterson, who passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012, at his daughter's home in Pierre Part, with his family by his side. Graveside services will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Fr. Angelo Cremaldi will officiate the services. Bernie was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War. He enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nedia Lege Arcemont of Patterson; one daughter, Bernita Arcemont Landry and her husband Troy of Pierre Part; one son, Chris Anthony Arcemont of Fort Meyers, FL; three grandchildren, Brandon Hotard and his wife Jamie of Berwick, Jacob Adam Landry and his wife Lyndsi of Pierre Part, and Chase Michael Landry of Pierre Part; three great grandchildren, Rayne Elizabeth Hotard of Berwick, Miley Ann Hotard of Berwick, and Ridge Adam Landry of Pierre Part; one brother-in-law, Harris Lege of Gun Barrel City, TX; one sister-in-law, Mary B. Luquette of Abbeville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Rene Arcemont and Enid Blanco Arcemont; one brother, Louis J. Arcemont; one sister, Mabelle A. Glennon; father and mother-in-law, Tony Carinhas and Anita M. Carinhas; two brothers-in-law, Lester P. Luquette, Sr. and George Glennon; and one nephew, Allen Dupuy. A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, January 8, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 6:00 PM until 9:00PM with the rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM, and will resume Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9:00 AM until Mass time at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be his three grandsons, Brandon Hotard, Jacob Adam Landry, and Chase Michael Landry, and three nephews, Wayne J. Luquette (godchild), Dale C. Luquette, and Tracy A. Luquette. Military Honors will be conducted be the United States Marine Corps and the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Charlotte, B. J., Jo and the entire staff of Cardinal Hospice of Baton Rouge for the loving care given to Bernie and his family.
