Helena (GA-75). Alvin was a tug boat captain in and around the Morgan City area. Alvin leaves behind his wife, Doris Wells Bergeron of Robert; two daughters, Darlene Bergeron Cancienne and son-in-law Lloyd F. Cancienne Jr. of Thibodaux and Kim Bergeron Brown and son-in-law Bertis L. Brown of Pitkin; sisters, Mary Ruth Schexnider of Scott and Helen Foret of Biloxi, Miss.; and one brother, Allen Bergeron of Bayou Vista. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Nekeya James Boersma and Crystal Suire Halverson of Houston, E’Lisca Bergeron Cutrer and Sonja Bergeron of Robert and David Lee Brown of Pitkin; and great-grandchildren, Lance Michael Halverson, Jason Michael Halverson, Desire’ Roze Hemsted, Graceon Wayne Hemsted, Lance Daniel Hemsted, Demaryna Nehlis Cutrer, Cameron Wayne Childress, Malachi Andrew Wyman and Haydon Jax Wyman. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Baptiste Bergeron of Houma and Lisca Foret Bergeron of Little Caillou; sons, Wayne Peter Bergeron and Kenny James Bergeron; a grandson, Lance James Bergeron; six sisters and five brothers. Funeral arrangements were Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Richardson’s Funeral Home in Hammond, 5-7 p.m. Alvin‘s remains will be cremated and returned to the Mississippi River as he requested. ===================
