He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morgan City. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Clinton Cortez and his wife Paola, Sarasota, Florida; granddaughter, Chloe' Cortez, of Morgan City; brother, Terry Cortez and his wife Linda, of Morgan City; sister, Lynn Cortez Uhl, and her husband Bill, of Pensacola, Florida; very special person in his life, Betty Giroir. Also surviving are nephews, Damian Cortez of Kennebunk, Maine, Hans Cortez of Bidderford, Maine, Shane Uhl of Mobile, Alabama, and Craig Nicholson- Uhl, of New Orleans; three great nephews, Dominik Cortez, Shane Uhl, III, and Lucas Nicholson-Uhl; one great niece, Lauren Uhl. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Joseph Cortez, Sr. and Lena Duval Cortez. Funeral arrangements provided by Twin City Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 9:00 a.m. with Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 with Father Danny Poche officiating. We want to thank Betty for loving and taking such good care of him over the past eight years. Also all of the family and friends that helped get him to and from his treatments.
