Glenn was born on Dec. 7, 1954, and lived the majority of his life in south Louisiana. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and fondly recalled his days at “the camp” with his father Oscar and brother Jimmy. He graduated from Berwick High School in 1973. In 1975, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Carbonell, and began a romance that lasted 37 years. He worked on the construction of the E.J. “Lionel” Grizzaffi Bridge that spans the Atchafalaya River, connecting Berwick with Morgan City. Soon after this endeavor, he began nearly 25 years of work with Cameron Iron Works, machining pieces so vital to the nation’s economy. He became a master of his trade and was proficient in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, automotive repair, and any other field he set out to learn. In 1996, Glenn and his family moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they found new adventures, new friends and new family. After his time with Cameron was finished, he began working at Unique Machine. He would stay with Unique for 10 years, during which time the company experienced unprecedented growth. Glenn loved the Alaskan outdoors, especially four-wheeling along the Knik River, spending time at the Theis cabin on Big Beaver Lake and taking multiple trips to Cold Bay with his close friend, Dwight Jones. Glenn was a man with a heart as big as Alaska, shown by his positive effect upon all who knew him. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Alice Chain Norris; his brother, David Norris; his father-in-law, John Carbonell Sr.; a brother-in-law, Michael Carbonell; and a son-in-law, Mason P. Lagstrom. Glenn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Toni” Carbonell Norris; two daughters, JoBeth Norris Adams and husband Seth and Angelle Norris Lagstrom; his son, Jason M. Norris and wife Rae Goedel Norris; and grandchildren, Elijah, Silas and Isaac Lagstrom, and Aurora and Atlas Norris, all of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Fraley of Berwick; a brother, Jimmy Norris of Collins, Miss.; his stepmother, Yvonne Norris; stepsisters, Connie Hebert, Judith Morrison and Lisa Ellis of south Louisiana; as well as multiple nieces and nephews throughout the United States. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at Chapel of the Cross on Hillside. In lieu of flowers, Glenn wished that donations be made to a fund that will seek to provide a Christian education to his grandchildren. Donations can be made to: Wells Fargo, Glenn Norris Memorial Fund, Acct. No. 7144519332. The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to all who have supported them during Glenn’s battle with ALS. Your many expressions of love have helped to ease their burdens. ===================
