Born Oct. 3, 1934, in Enhaut, Pa., he was one of six children born to Miles and Gladys McFarland Wells. Following high school graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. While serving as a paratrooper, Pfc. Wells met Pvt. Amy Elizabeth “Peggy” Williams, who worked in the Pentagon in the Women’s Army Corps. They married Sept. 10, 1955, in Manassas, Va. Following their discharge from the Army, Dale and Peggy moved to Worland, Wyo., where he began his career in the oil industry. This took them all over the nation and to three foreign countries. The family lived in Williston, N.D., Moab, Utah, Berwick, Casper, Wyo., Kilgore, Texas, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Grand Junction, Colo., and Las Vegas. Their extended family met regularly in the summers at Crazy Woman Campground near Worland, campers and motorcycles in tow. Dale’s ever-present smile and enthusiasm for life were passed on to his children and grandchildren, who loved him without measure. Dale was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners and the American Legion. Following the death of his wife Peggy in 1996, Dale returned to Worland. Dale later met Phyllis Nelsen, and they married in April 2005. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amy Elizabeth “Peggy” Wells; a brother, Miles Wells Jr.; and a sister, Doris Wells Brockman. He is survived by two children, Michael Dale Wells of Las Vegas and Kimber Leigh Madison of Oklahoma City; his brothers, Carl Wells of Las Vegas and Larry Wells of Dillsburg, Pa.; a sister, Betty Gingrich of Wormleysburg, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Brian Lawrence Madison, Sarah Alexandria Madison Pennington and Michele Dale Wells. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in June 2012 in Worland, Wyo. ===================
