Alfred, 84, a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Teche Regional Medical Center. Callan was born on July 16, 1927, in Morgan City the son of William J. Alfred Sr. and Ida Mary Loupe. Callan was a charter member of Holy Cross Catholic Church where he was an Eucharistic Minister and also an usher. He was very proud of his country serving with the United States Marine Corp and also the Army National Guard. Callan loved to travel but most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Amy L. Alfred, of Morgan City; four children, Callan J. Alfred, Jr. of Morgan City, Kenneth E. Alfred and wife Judy of Morgan City, Mark A. Alfred of Morgan City, Elizabeth A. Broussard and husband Jud, of Carencro; eight grandchildren, Jessica S. Blanchard, Melissa A. Geisler and husband Neal, Michele L. Alfred, Kenneth J. Alfred, Jacob M. Alfred, Lyall J. Alfred and wife Erin, James B. Broussard and wife Ashleigh, Sara E. Osmund and husband Mike; three great grandchildren, Abigail Geisler, Gavin Blanchard, Zachary Blanchard; three step- great-grandchildren, Kade Malone, Kobyn Malone, Tysen Osmund. He is also survived by one brother, Calvin Alfred and wife Laura; four sisters, Ida Mae Percle and husband R.J., Margaret Holt and husband Jim, Judy Aucoin, Linda Bitely and husband Truman; two sister-in-laws, Kate Alfred, Rita L. Figel and husband Paul; a host of nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. Alfred, Sr. and Ida Mary Loupe Alfred; four brothers, Edward A. Alfred, William J. Alfred, Jr., Bernie J. Alfred, Norris Alfred and wife Marilyn; mother and father-n-law Margaret G. Lyall and John K. Lyall; brother and sister-in-law, Cy Drudul and Evelyn Drudul. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Callan will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Mausoleum with military honors provided by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad. ===================
