Mr. Racks was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Franklin. He was employed at Kuhlman and Becnel Hardware for 25 years. Mr. Racks served for 2½ years in the U.S. Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. In 1944, he married Gracie Madison. He completed high school and trade school in San Diego, California. He was a member of the American Legion in Franklin and a deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Franklin. In the mid-1960s, he opened a plumbing business in Franklin that he operated for more than 20 years. For the last seven years, he has lived in Grambling with his daughter where he attended St. Benedict Catholic Church. Mr. Racks is survived by daughters, Alva Mae Sam of New Orleans; Deloris Steverson (Charles) Owens and Joyce Steverson of Grambling; grandchildren, Gloria Jean Sam, Rena Mae Sam, Sylvia Marie Sam, Dalton Sam Jr., Ernest Sam, Cynthia Sam, Christine Sam and Ernestine Sam, all of New Orleans; Cassandra Owens (Arturo) Sherrard of Shreveport; Charlene Owens (Rick) Wyatt of Gibsland; and Charles H. Owens IV of Grambling; and nieces and nephews, Willie Racks, Robert Jenkins, Betty Beverly, Portia Jenkins, Douglas Madison Jr., Carolyn Matthews, Robertine Hammond, Marion Jenkins, Ricky Jenkins, Celia Mae Pierson and Jackie Johnson. ===================
