SAM, THOMAS 

Mr. Thomas Sam, 59, a resident of Centerville and native of the Katy Community, 
died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 2:20 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional 
Medical Center in Lafayette following a short illness.

Visitations will be observed Friday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Otis 
Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Friday, at 1 p.m., at the mortuary, officiated by the 
Rev. Ronald C. Young. 
Interment will follow in the Special Providence Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mr. Sam is survived by his wife, Doretha Alexander Sam of Centerville; two 
sons, Christian Sam and Norman Alexander of Centerville; three daughters, 
Tomasiena Sam and Ashley Alexander of Centerville and Jacqueline Nolan of 
Lafayette; five brothers, John D. Mathew Sr., Shedrick Sam and Edward Delone of 
Franklin, Alfred Sam Sr. of Sorrell and Wallace Sam of Houston, Texas; seven 
sisters, Alva Burrell, Rosa Mary Johnson, Consuelo Jones, Phyllis Mitchell, 
Madeline Edwards, Pamela Casteal and Zelma Sam of Franklin; and two 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
